Finding your Average Metrics & Best Performers

We often hear the question "What's a good open rate for my emails?" This can vary by industry, list size, list age, frequency of send and more!

 

You can peek at our average metrics by industry on the emfluence Blog, but more importantly, you should find your OWN benchmarks, and which of your emails beats them.

 

Both are easy to find, right in the Reports section.

 

Your average email marketing metrics

In the Reports section, set your date range -- for example, for the last 12 months -- and click View Report:

 

 

You'll see a full list of EVERY email sent in that time frame. To see your average email metrics, scroll the to the bottom of the Emails section of the report.
You'll see total raw numbers and aggregated open, click, bounce, unsubscribe and complaint rates:

 

 

You can also filter your report by a specific Campaign first, to see averages for a certain type of email.

For example, your newsletters may have different averages than your promotions.

 

 

You can also sort your report by any of the columns. For example, click on the Unique Views header to sort by your highest Open Rate, by percentage.

You'll likely see your smaller, segmented and targeted sends near the top.
