Add Social Media Accounts

Click on Options, just under the top navigation. Click Manage Accounts under Linked Accounts, Sites, and API. If you don’t have permission to access third-party accounts, talk to your Account Representative or your Platform Administrator.

Click New Account. NOTE: Be sure you are signed into the account you want to authorize, or are able to sign into it when prompted, before continuing.

Select if you want to authorize a Twitter, a Facebook page, an Instagram business account, or LinkedIn account and click Verify Account. In the same way, you can also connect a GA4 Google Analytics account and a legacy Google Analytics account (the older accounts which will be deprecated in 2023). NOTE: For Facebook, you can only link Pages (and your Facebook user must have the proper Facebook permissions for that page to do so). On LinkedIn, you can only link business pages. On Instagram, you can only link business accounts and those accounts must be connected to a Facebook page.

Click to Verify the account (you will need to be signed-in to the account you are verifying).

For Facebook, if you are the Facebook administrator for multiple pages and applications, you’ll be asked to select which one you want to add. I you want to add multiple pages, you will need to verify them one by one. NOTE: no personal information from your account will be used, even though you’re logged in personally to Facebook to authorize.

Click Confirm to allow the emfluence Marketing Platform to access your social media account. Given the recent changes with Twitter (X), if you need to be able to post images in tweets, you will also need to verify account for images. NOTE: After this is done, you may need to go through the original process again and reverify your account using Verify Account for a second time.

If you want to sync all messages from this social account (not just the ones you post from emfluence) and receive their metrics, make sure to toggle Sync Messages to yes.

Assign the users that can post on behalf of this account. NOTE: These users will also need to have one of the social media permissions assigned to them as well.

Click Save to save any changes you've made on this page.

Reverify Accounts

Occasionally you may need to reverify an account based on an update by Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn or the social network may just require a newer cookie than you have saved in your account. If you receive automated messages from emfluence about social messages failing to send, re-authenticating the account will usually solve the problem. If it does not please contact your account manager or support@emfluence.com

To reverify: Click into the account, click the verify button, and follow the same steps you used to set-up the account.
