Group Settings

When clicked into a Group, you will find three tabs: Contacts, Options, and Reports.

Contacts

The Contacts tab allows you to view and search for all contacts assigned to this group. You can also download the contacts or add or remove everyone in this list to another group.

Options

On the Group Options tab you are able to edit your Group's information including Group Name, Friendly Name (the name which will appear if your group is Public), Visibility, Status, and making your Group either Protected or a Testing Group. Here you will also be able to control what users have access to your group (by default client admins have access to all groups).

Group Name is intended for internal use. However, if you make a group Public, the Group Name will be visible on your unsubscribe page for subscribers to opt out of. If you choose to make a group Public, so that your subscribers can customize their subscription preferences on your Unsubscribe page, be sure to assign a Friendly Name and Description to your group. These items will display on your Unsubscribe page, if available:

Testing Groups are useful when you have up to 15 people on your marketing team that review your emails before they deploy. In the Preview step, when you're composing an email, you can send a single proof to one email address. However, if you have multiple proofers, simply add them to a Testing Group, and select that group from the Test Group dropdown menu:

Proofs of your email will then be sent to each email address in your Testing Group. Testing groups are Private by default.

Groups should be flagged as Protected when Users should be prohibited from deleting the group. For example, Protected Groups should include:

  • Groups being fed by a form on your website
  • Groups receiving contacts via a data sync with a CRM
  • Groups that are synced to an active automated email (these groups will be protected by default)

Reports

The Reports tab will show your Group's Members Growth chart over time in the date range selected.
