HTML and Text Versions of an Email
A text version of your email will be generated automatically for each email you create, but you may want to edit or create the TEXT version with different content than the HTML version. For example, when your email is image-heavy or your offer is embedded in the graphics, those that receive the TEXT version may not get your message clearly, so you may want to edit the TEXT version just for those recipients.
Although, the percentage of recipients who receive the TEXT-only version is very small, you do not want anyone missing the key message of your email. With this functionality, you can compose a text email that includes all necessary messaging.
To edit the TEXT version of your email from the Compose step, click on the Text Version button above the Drag & Drop editor.
To compose your own text version, un-check the "Automatically create text version" button, edit your text, and then click Apply. Remember, any changes made to the TEXT version will not affect the HTML version.
(NOTE: If at any time you decide you want to re-link the HTML and TEXT version so the TEXT version contains the same content as the HTML , follow the same steps, re-check the "Automatically create the text version box, and then hit apply.)
If you need to download the HTML version of an email, you can click on the preview button and, in the preview pane, click the download button to save as HTML. To save the Text version, follow the same steps, toggle to Text, and then download.
