Managed Domains
View a walk-through of using Landing Page Managed Domains in the emfluence ClickLearn section here and using Landing Page Custom Domains here.
Your landing page URL can be one of three options: Default, emfluence Managed or Alternate. The default URL will be hostedlandingpages.net followed by a long string of characters.
For many of our clients, we’d recommend that you use something more branded. You can set up a branded subdomain in less than 60 seconds with an emfluence-Managed domain:
How to create an emfluence-Managed Subdomain
- Choose an emfluence-Managed URL for a slightly more branded page by selecting a domain from the drop down menu, i.e. http://acme.hostedlandingpages.com, and then type your page URL path, i.e. /testpage.
- If you have no domains in the drop down menu, follow the link to Manage Subdomains. NOTE: You can also see and manage domains in the Page Domains section of emfluence.
- Create a subdomain, i.e. acme.
- Select an emfluence-managed domain from the list, i.e. hostedlandingpages.com
If subdomains are already set-up, you can choose the one you want from the list available.
Then use your emfluence-Managed subdomain and add a page name after the forward slash, for example acme.hostedlandingpage.com/SpecialOffer. The Platform will automatically check to see if that page URL is already in use.
The most branded URL possible is using the Alternate Location option, where you can use a subdomain of your company’s website to “point” it to your landing page account. You could use something like http://more.yourwebsite.com or http://pages.yourwebsite.com.
How to set up a Subdomain for your own site to use for you emfluence Landing pages
To set up a subdomain on your own website for your emfluence landing pages, you’ll need to access the domain records for your site.
- From the domain management panel of your website admin, add a custom DNS record for your website. Type the name of your subdomain and then choose CNAME as your subdomain “type” and point it to hostedlandingpages.net. (This may be called Value. Your screen may look slightly different than the screenshot samples below.)
- That's it! Then, when you’re creating landing pages in your emfluence account, you can simply type the full URL you’d like for the page. Using our first example above, you might type http://more.bestofjess.com/SpecialOffer or more.acmejetpacks.com/sign-up like in the example below.
- When you save your landing page, the Landing Page Generator will automatically check that URL to be sure it’s not already in use by another one of your pages.
- Once your landing page is set to active, you can test to be sure your landing page URL is working!
