emfluence Zapier integration
emfluence has a Zapier integration that allows you to push data from another system into emfluence. Zapier is a third party application that allows you to sync up data between apps. There are apps such as EventBrite, Gravity Forms, Shopify along with over 500 others in the Zapier system. Explore their full library of apps here to find any that you would like to sync up with the emfluence Marketing Platform.
Use the emfluence Marketing Platform app to create your own Zap. An example of a Zap is a contact from an EventBrite event sign-up automatically being added to a group in the emfluence Marketing Platform. Currently, we only have actions available, so another app must trigger an action in the emfluence Marketing Platform to add or update a contact record in your groups.
The Zapier integration can be found in Options menu under Linked Accounts, Sites, and API. NOTE: You can also connect zaps in Zapier itself, if you prefer to do so.
On the Zapier Integration page, you will find your existing Zaps or an option to sign-up or log into a Zapier account (if you aren't signed in). Under these choices you will find a search bar to see what other apps you can connect with and some premade Zaps which can be used as a starter when making your own Zaps.
In order to use the Zapier integration, you will need a Zapier account. Zapier plans vary from the Free plan (with a maximum of 100 tasks per month) to several different paid plans offering more functionality. Note that some Zaps are also considered "premium" and you may have to pay additionally for those. Current pricing can be found here.
When logged in, a list of existing apps will be shown and whether they are activated or turned off. You can click on any existing Zap to edit it within a pop-up modal. Here you can edit the logic of your Zap or turn your Zap on or off.
To create a new Zap, either choose one of the starter templates, click the create button at the top of the page, or use the search to find the application you wish to connect. NOTE: emfluence can only be the receiver of a Zap, it cannot be the trigger. In the pop-up, follow the steps to connect your other application to Zapier and then Zapier to your emfluence account.
You will need to sign in or provide a token to connect the other application. On the emfluence side, on your first Zap you will need to connect your account via an API token. You can find more about API tokens here. Once Zapier has a token saved, you can continue to connect Zaps in the same account with this same token.
When you are connecting the other application to Zapier you will have to make a series of choices the stepper will walk you through. These will vary depending on the application and what data you wish to be passed to emfluence. For example, for connecting to an event in Eventbrite you would need to select an event already existing in Eventbrite, confirm your account and connect it to Zapier, create the trigger, and then test.
On the emfluence side you would then connect specific data points (such as email, first name, last name, etc.) to fields within emfluence and you may also choose to add contacts to a specific group. You do not need to connect all fields from the original app to emfluence, but only the fields you connect will pass data into the platform. Test (you likely will need some data to test - for example a form entry that has already been filled out and can be passed into emfluence, etc.), and if no errors appear, save and activate your Zap.
