Posting to Facebook

In the Messages section you can hover over New Social and click on Facebook. You can also hover over the Messages icon in your top navigation and choose New Facebook Post. NOTE: You can also create a Facebook post on the Calendar.

Next, you will be taken to the Edit Social Message Page. You can give your new post a title (unlike email, social messages don't require a title but if you have similar social messages you may want to title them differently to tell them apart). And then choose the social account you have access to. On a Facebook message you can use the dropdown to see all Facebook pages your user has access to post. If you only have one, that will be the only account shown. If the account you wish to post to doesn't show up on the list, you would need to check to make sure it is set-up in emfluence and/or your user has been assigned to that account in order to post.

Next, you will choose which type of post you can make. For Facebook the choices are Message only (i.e. just text and links), Message + Image (an Image post that may also include some optional text), or Message + Link (Facebook will create a preview of the link post and you can add optional text). For a Message only, you can type or paste the text you want into the Message box. The counter in the far right will let you know how many characters you have available.

If you select Message + Image a new input will appear. You can either paste the image URL you want to share directly into the field or, if the image has been saved to your emfluence account, you can click the file button on the far right of the input and choose the file from your Uploaded Files. Adding using either method will fill in a preview of the image for you. On an Image post, you don't need to also fill in message text, but you can if you wish.

On a Message + Link post the Message section will still be available, if you choose to use it. Underneath it, you will see a Link section. Paste the URL you wish to share in the URL input. Then click the refresh icon to fill in the Title and Description of the post. Facebook is pulling that information from the page. While we do allow you to edit both, that doesn't mean Facebook will necessarily always use your edits and may default to the original.

After creating your post, you can now schedule it. If you leave the default Send manually checked, the message will be posted as soon and you click Post Message (you will need to Save your post prior to posting it). If you want to schedule in the future, select Set a delivery date/time and set a schedule for the post.

You can also assign your message to any existing Campaign, or use the Enter new campaign name input to create a new campaign and assign it to the message.

Save, and then schedule or post your message.

Sent social messages can be viewed in the Messages section under the Social tab. You can check/uncheck the boxes for the individual types of social to limit your search. You can find your metrics there, as well as the ability to click into an individual message by clicking on the title for further information.
