Part Two: Entity Configuration for Dynamics

Make sure you complete Part One before starting these steps. If so, you should now see your Environment information displayed here https://emailer.emfluence.com/options/dynamics/ You will notice your syncs are disabled. Although we have created the connection between the two environments, we haven't yet told the integration what we wish to connect. Next, we will set up your Entity Configuration.

Entity Configuration

In emfluence, click the button to Map New Entity. In the Map New Entity modal, type the name of the Entity you wish to map and choose it from the list provided. In this example, we will map Contact. You can map Leads in much the same way.

Click Save.

Under field mappings, you will choose which Dynamic fields you want to map to emfluence. For example, on email you would choose your Contact’s email field and then your emfluence email field. Click Save to complete. Continue to map other fields that you wish to bring into emfluence from Dynamics. If your mapping is valid you should see a green checkmark for the Entity Sync.

After you have mapped your fields, scroll down to Entity Syncs and click Edit.

Here you will need to assign a Dynamics View to the sync (the view controls the list of what contacts or leads, whichever you have mapped, will sync to emfluence). You must use a System View. Choose the view you wish. Although you can choose "All Contacts" for Contacts (or "All Leads" for Leads), you may not want to sync all data. Your View allows you control over what data is allowed to sync. NOTE: At minimum, if you have entries in Dynamics without an email address, emfluence suggests limiting the view to only contacts (or leads) with an email address. We cannot sync records without an email address. Narrowing the view to only those with an email address means the sync would attempt to sync records it can not process every time it runs.

Optionally, you can choose to add New Group Mapping. This allows for contacts in Marketing Lists within Dynamics to be added to specific emfluence Groups when contacts get added to that Marketing List in Dynamics. To connect, choose your Marketing List and emfluence Group from the dropdowns. You can find more about this here.

You must also confirm your choices of Dynamics > emfluence fields by checking the boxes for each one (if you forget this step the fields will not sync). Below this, for any emfluence controlled fields (such as suppression) you will see the ability to check them for syncing as well. Check the box for any fields you want to enable. Once enabled, the green checkmarks in your mapping should turn into green circles with white checkmarks in the middle. NOTE: Email is pre-checked as it is required to sync. Don't forget, you still need to turn on your sync.
