Click & View Tracking
By default, emfluence tracks both views, by the recipient downloading images in an email, and clicks, by employing the use of a redirect URL. If you wish, these can be deactivated both at the template level and on an individual email. NOTE: By disabling view tracking you lose the ability to track the people who opened your email. And by disabling link tracking you lose the ability to track clicks (meaning that data will not be saved to the platform). By default, emfluence counts clicks as views (you can't click without viewing the email). If you have click tracking disabled those will no longer count as views and if you have view tracking disabled those clicks will no longer count towards your views. In other words, disabling either will limit summary data about your email.
Emails
On the Compose step of an email you will see the Tracking option show up between Google Analytics and your access to the Text version of your email. Clicking the button will launch a modal and allow you to turn of either or both view and link tracking.
Toggle left to disable (the icon will darken and you should see text informing you that it is now disabled). Remember to save. If you disable both, when you save and close the modal you should no longer see a checkmark on the Tracking tab. Remember, if you choose to disable tracking you will lose the ability to track those metrics on your email.
Templates
On email templates you also have the ability to set the default to both view and link tracking to off. In Template Builder, go in to edit your template. Under the Options tab (where you can also set default subject, title, from name, etc.) you will find the same two toggles to turn off tracking. Toggle the option to the left to disable. Remember to save.
